Wilbroad Muponda Known by his stage name Willom Tight, is the fifth born, in a family of seven. Tight was born on the 15th of March 1971, in Harare Tafara Township

His family occasionally held traditional ceremonies, rendering Willom a rattle shaker and drum beater at a tender age.

Willom Tight is a vocalist and singer-songwriter who can be best described as a musical powerhouse, who best reflects contemporary Afrocentric-soul music. He sings in Shona interspersed with a bit of English, and the lyrics often have special or hidden messages. The album entails soul soothing, guitar rhythmic stories that capture the innermost emotions of the soul. He is gifted with a deep and gusty voice plus a talent for writing songs that reflect on the daily life and struggles of the people. Most of his songs focus on the social and economic issues that govern people's daily lives.

He has been heavily influenced by chimurenga, the genre pioneered by Mapfumo that is inspired by the hypnotic rhythms of the mbira (thumb piano). However, chimurenga is just one of many styles performed by Willom Tight, as his music also incorporates pop influences, South African mbaqanga, the energetic Zimbabwean pop style JIT, and reggae.

He joined Tafara primary school's traditional dance group, later the senior choir and the drama club. In 1992 he joined a band called Bisas Combination where he lasted until 1994, and later moved to Nexus Talent Agents between 1995 and 1996. During that same period Williom Tight registered for StarBrite and when they entered the competition it was the four of them. Since entering the competition my life and my career changed because it was through this platform that helped to boost up my music career.

In 1997 Willom was involved in the formation of yet another group, Mateo and Friends where he stayed until 1999. Willom founded the 'Tight Family' in year 2000 and recorded their first album 'Ndinoda Wangu' the same year.

His career has been decorated with successful hits as well as memorable local collaborations among them one with Mateo & Friends with their hit Pamuhacha. This collaboration was followed by his 2003 - 2006 stint with Dino Mudondo and the most colourful work with Oliver Mtukudzi on the album Tuku & Friends in 2010 Willom.
