Harare auditions, a clash of the giants

THE StarBrite Season 8 auditions first round for Harare lived up to its billing as the ‘clash of the giants’, as contestants battled to obtain a place in the second round at the City Sports Bar, in Harare on the 13th September 2019.

Performances were categorized into six (6) clusters namely, singing, dancing as per individuals and groups, poetry, beat boxing and gymnastics, respectively.

Each category was allocated ten qualification slots for the next round out of the number of contestants who auditioned.

The StarBrite crew managed to interview qualifiers, who were in high spirits after fending off stiff competition other aspiring contestants.

“I am very happy to qualify to the next round and I promise to deliver more at the second round so that I can qualify to the third round,” said Natasha Mashonganyika, a beat boxer said.

A Gully Flexxers dancing group member said, “We are now working on qualifying for the finals because we are very sure we will make it for the second round, third round up to the semifinals.” 

Maestro Chaparadza, who did not qualify said, “I am very disappointed, but I will try again next time.”

The Harare auditions were meant to cater for those who failed to pitch-up during the high density suburb auditions earlier, where StarBrite organizers and producers travelledto places like Mbare, Chitungwiza, Highfields and Mufakose,insearch of talented people

Qualified contestants will be elevated to the second round at the same venue on the 21st September 2019.
