StarBrite has continued its reign as the #1 reality show in total viewers since the series premiered in 2012. Currently in its milestone 7th season, the next $25000 dollar act was crowned at the just ended finale on the 19th and 20th of January 2018 at the FOG Theatre in Bulawayo.

Since premiering in 2012, StarBrite has remained the only competition series that gives entertainers of all ages and talents a chance to showcase their unique skills to a nationwide audience, regardless of where they are domiciled. Urban areas, rural areas, jails schools all targeted. Following the landmark partnership with the Zimbabwe Prison services, many inmates throughout the country have participated on the show as part of the rehab program.

StarBrite is the only talent competition series open to performers of all backgrounds, allowing them to showcase their skills and take the stage in front of the celebrity judge panel, as well as the entire country. Previous winners include Willom Tight, Kireni Zulu, Prudence Katomeni Mbofana, Tendai Chidarikire, Mateo, Bryan K to name but a few. Acts in the just ended season of the show ranged anywhere from comedians, to dancers, to singers, to magicians – the StarBrite stage truly welcomes all.

This year’s finals were expected to be bigger and better than before and indeed lived up to the billing. This year’s finals honoured the legendary musician Lovemore Majaivana. All singers performed live with the StarBrite Band a song from the music icon.

The competition leveraged the power of the stage presentation, to engage the audience, a big presence on social media, generating support over 90 days. Intended to build a global artist, the platform always acts above and beyond the confinements of an ordinary talent search show. StarBrite is more of an academy focusing on developing an artist rather than limited to just discovery. The winner was determined based on the overall quality of the performances ability to follow instructions the number of Facebook likes, tweets, and social media interactions each submission generated.

The show opened at 7pm with an inspiring panel of judges, including Tehn Diamond, Novuyo Dube, Munyaradzi Gunduza, Patience Lusengo and Ba Shupi. The competition celebrated the legendary Lovemore Majaivana andin his honour, StarBrite got 2 wheel chairs from Mr. Ben Chimutengo to be donated to Jairos Jiri association Bulawayo

2017 season Winners: Nomagugu Ncube, 25years(Overall winner). She shrugged off stiff competition from 26 other finalists. 

1st runner up -Silos Gumunyu (singer) an inmate at Marondera prison, will be released from prison in about 42 days. 

Second 1st runner up: Shephard Chidima (co- runners up). Poet from Bikita Masvingo province
