J Squad - Dance Category

 

J Squad crew is aseven memberlocal hip hop dance group based in Gweru, Midlands province. The group’s origins stretch back as far as the year 2010, when the group had no knowledge of what dance is and how to express themselves through dance, but their passion spurred them on to pursue their dreams. 

The group dances to every type of contemporary dance. 

To date, the group has amassed five (5) Best Edutainment Dance Group of the Year, winner of hip hop Gweru Got Talent 2017 and the recent Midlands Best Hip Hop Group 2018. 

Inspired by Urban Dance Academy an international school that caters in movement and creativity of different genres of dance styles, J Squad wishes to go international. 

The group’s favourite international dance groups are Kanjis, Periotic, Just Jerk and Shrank, while on the local scene the group follows 4 GloboTribe,Real flex,Super Geeks,Voltage Crew and The Chosen. J Squad admires these groups for their abilities to withstand their trials and tribulations, factors that have given them (J Squad) faith and hope, whenever the chips are down.
