Hope Masike

She is an Afro-fusion singer, mbira player, percussionist, song writer, fashion designer and a painter. She's also been a teacher of African music in Norway. She is popularly known as 'The Princess of Mbira'. Masike comes from Musana in Bindura. She is a graduate from the Zimbabwe College of Music (ZCM). She has toured many countries in Africa and Europe.

Thomas Mapfumo

Backed by his band, Blacks Unlimited, Thomas Mapfumo has been at the cutting edge of the political struggle in his native Zimbabwe for over 20 years, even as he's become a major figure on the world music scene. Born in 1945 in the small town of Marondera, in the country that was then the British colony of Rhodesia, Mapfumo attended a colonial school and heard Western pop on the radio.

Prudence Katomeni Mbofana

She is a talented Zimbabwean Jazz musician, and has one of the most soulful voices in the country. She rose to prominence when she was the lead vocalist in the band, Jazz Invitation releasing hits such as BP and Ruva Rangu. Before that she had made a debut in showbiz when she featured in the multi-award winning movie, More Time in 1993.

Chiwoniso Maraire

She was a Zimbabwean singer, songwriter, and exponent of Zimbabwean mbira music. She was the daughter of Zimbabwean mbira Master and teacher Dumisani Maraire a former officer in the Zimbabwe Ministry of Sports and Culture in the early 1980s.

Oliver Mtukudzi

He also known as "Tuku" (short for Mtukudzi) is a singer-songwriter, actor, writer, film director and entrepreneur. With over 60 albums to his name, he is one of Zimbabwe's top musicians and lead of the band The Black Spirits. His sings a music genre known as Afro-Jazz. Mtukudzi's career spans decades, having started in 1975 when he did his debut single.

Dorothy Masuka

Dorothy Masuka was born in Zimbabwe the then Rhodesia but received her schooling in South Africa and chose to stay there after graduating in order to pursue a musical career. She started out in a show called African Jazz and Variety, with Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela and others, imitating American jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald.
