Barney Mpariwa is the original founder and cast member of StarBrite in the late 1980s. He is a well-known media personality having cut his brodcasting teeth at ZBC presenting popular shows such as Music Box, Road report, Weather report, Mvengemvenge/Ezomgido, Starbrite and the then Radio 3. An original cast member of the very successful movie "I am the future acted as Toby" the cameraman.
He has over 20 years of broadcasting experience. In the early 1990s Barney left the country to pursue his career and studies in the UK and USA. He majored in Radio, Film and Television. While in the USA, he is credited for creating the Miss Zim- USA, Zim- Canada, and Zim-UK.
Mr Mpariwa has been at the forefront of the music and entertainment industry for over 20 years and has created the “StarBrite” concept as well as developed the show throughout the years. It is this vision, focus and determination to offer opportunities to all Zimbabweans on a level playing field that has produced the likes of Prudence Katomeni, Mateo, Kireni Zulu, Tendai Chidarikire and many others who have used StarBrite as a career launch pad. Since his return he has gone back to his love of broadcasting with Power Fm and revived StarBrite.
