He was born on 3rd of July 1995 and raised by both his parents together with his elder brother who's 33 and married now. His parents were married until 2011, when they separated and he moved in with his mother and his elder brother to their maternal grandparents' home in Mutare, from Masvingo and have been living there since that time.
Unfortunately his mother passed away in 2015, and just as with any other child, it was a trying time for him. By the grace of God he managed to pass through that phase and still surviving as a strong young man.
He has always told himself that he was born to "musical" parents.” The greatest memories i have about my mom and dad are those from when they would play records and casettes, sing for each other and dance in celebration for certain achievements or just to express their love towards each other. My dad was in possession of hundreds of records and cassettes” he said
Brandon believed that was the birth of his passion for music. He started singing at the age of 4, when he was in kindergarten and he remembered one of his favourite songs was Cher's "Believe" whose chorus he would sing in the most distorted and funniest way anyone ever would. “Haha, if there was a way of singing in a text, and l would have made you hear it” He said laughing.
He has been singing since childhood and his passion and skill has developed over the years. Also he has great exposure to different kinds of music and appreciate them all but RNB and Pop music has been his favourite genre of them all. He started performing on stage at the age of 13 when he was in form one at Gokomere High School and he would contest in Talent Shows.
At that time, he had a sharp soprano-alto voice and his favourite artist at the time was Rihanna. He remembered performing her hit "Umbrella" which instantly had him nicknamed ‘Rihanna’ at the school and he didn't mind as he found it hilarious. That nickname lasted up to when he was in form 4. Thank God his voice finally broke, and he had grown older hence the death of his nickname.
Brandon has grown well, musically, physically and mentally. Through listening to different music, he has learnt to express himself better and also created his own art and style.
His most defining moment was being a participant on StarBrite Talent Search Show Season 8 where he initially had auditioned in 2018, qualified up to round 3. Unfortunately he didn't make it to the First BOOTCAMP which was quite heartbreaking. When he then came back for the second time in 2019, he managed to go through not only to the first BOOTCAMP, but to the Semi-Finals, Finals and also the Grand Finale. He believed that he has really been blessed to have this opportunity and at the same time feels that it is the time for his breakthrough .
As he was growing up, he had always wished to be a part of a reality show, appear on TV and also sing before a panel of judges and have a bigger audience to witness how gifted he is. StarBrite has been the full package that came sealed with all those dreams he grew up wishing for.
In as much as he is ecstatic that all his million dreams are coming true, one by one, it all comes with a price and the journey is not an easy one. It's a bumpy ride! The greatest challenge he had experienced so far was the First BOOTCAMP. It was brutal! The physical strain and the emotional pain as well as he went through the strenuous exercises, punishment and training was practically unbearable. All was meant to toughen him and make him a stronger artist, He is now glad that he managed to walk out of it safe and more frightful! Blessing in disguise, you could call it.
Over the course of his participation in the competition, the greatest lesson learnt is it's important to get it right the very first time. Make an impression the moment you stand in the spotlight. Never waste any chance you get to prove yourself because it could be the one and only. It's a fierce world out there!
Looking further into the future, he does not want to stop for anyone or anything. He is aware of the potential he has; the power that lies within him to inspire and influence the world through his music and a whole lot more other types of art in which he possess the talent.
He believes that he is going to be an international artist, a well-renowned and established celebrity, a major force to reckon with. As the Lord has been leading him in everything everything he does and will never lose hope. “I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. Watch the space!”
