Last Number Last Number is a music group that plays jazz, pop, rock and reggae. The group comprises of five members namely Rawland Machona (Bass Guitarist), Morgan Gomwe (Guitarist and vocals), Innocent Bagunda (Vocals), Jean-Luk Kampani (Percussionist) and David Mudamburi (Drummer).
The group was formed at the Harare Central Prison in March 2013 where the band members met. Morgan, Rowland and David acquired their knowledge of musical instruments under incarceration. However instruments were not always readily available, so they had to improvise by using empty containers, toothbrushes and buckets.
In early childhood, back in DRC, Innocent and Jean –Luk had an early head start as vocalists as they sang in school and church choirs respectively. Last Number as a band is yet to record an album but have several songs currently being rehearsed and ready for recording.
As a band, Last Number has achieved to be in the finals of Starbrite talent search which is one of the major talent show cases in Zimbabwe. Producing good entertaining music of world standard is one of Last Number’s purpose and goal.
