My name is Pamela Dzvinamurungu aka miss unique I am aged 23, born in Harare on the 2nd of September in a family 3 and I am the second born and only girl. I reside with both my parents, born as a Christian and I attend AFM in Zimbabwe. I live in Chitungwiza and employed as a cosmetologist, I did my course at Harare Polytechnic. My hobbies are singing and listening to music sometimes I watch cartoons, I am passionate about music and I discovered that I am a good singer when I was doing grade 5. I then joined choir and also started singing at church. I used to watch StarBrite and decided to join as I had a feeling I could make it.
When we started StarBrite 2015 we were 10000 and now we are only 10, am hopeful that I will win and take my singing career to another level. I believe StarBrite will open doors for me of which I think it has already did. Being in the top 10 means a lot to me I have come this far, during the journey with StarBrite to the finals it has taught me to be a strong girl yes physically and emotionally. I have learnt how to be a better singer through coaching and exercises it was an exciting journey and I loved every bit. I have also learnt how to interact with fans how to market, am now preparing for the finals.... thank you.
Boot camp started on Friday 20th of November at Mabvazuva village. I really had a good time and experience. The food was perfect and the rooms were lovely. On the 21st we woke up at 5am then we did our body fitness exercises with coach TB in which afterwards we had our breakfast.
We had the privilege of meeting up with artists who came to the Boot camp, the likes of Hope Masike, Cynthia Mare and Cindy Munyavi who shared more insight about the music industry. I learnt that in the music industry I must not have the spirit of giving up and a positive attitude is required as attitude and character determines success in the industry.
I also learnt that as an artist I should be able to play an instrument which gives you an added advantage as an artist. We were also taught to be strong no matter what people say about our music as well as stay focused on what we hope to achieve. This can be achieved if we plan as every artist needs to be organized since time is money.
When it comes to health, we were encouraged to eat less sugary things and eat more of fruits and vegetables as well as drink more than 2 liters of water a day so as to produce a well-rounded voice and sound.
The highlight of the Boot Camp for me was the time we had with Mr Mpariwa who taught me to be someone who is brave enough to stand for herself and to know that time never waits for us and should therefore use every opportunity wisely.
