Lisa Sibanda is a young and talented poet, born on 17 October 2003. She is a well-mannered Form two student at Mazambara High School in Masvingo. Lisa is a cool, talented and composed poet. She exposed her talent as a poet in 2012 when she was in grade four. In 2013, she represented Masvingo Province in Harare at the Presidential Independence Gala. Ever since then she has not looked back at her performance in poetry since the exposure boosted her inspiration.
In February 2016, she came first out of fourteen (14) schools which competed at the Masvingo Arts Gala. Once again, in August 2016, she entered the Starbrite Competition in which she made it to the finals, and coming out number four (4) overall position at national level. In September 2016, Lisa was the Director of Ceremony at the Jikinya Arts Festival where she also outstandingly performed poetry. Again in September 2016 she gave an outstanding perfomance at the Dzimbabwe Arts Festival in Masvingo.
In December 2016, she once again performed at the Masvingo Mirror Annual Awards. On 24 February 2017, Lisa also performed at the Masvingo Achievement Awards. She is the current Masvingo North Junior Counselor. Lisa Sibanda’s dedication to her passionate art of words, and the fame she has been exposed to, seems not to have disturbed her schooling. She is aiming at performing at international level. Her ambition is to be a journalist.
