My name is Melody Tembo aged 19 years and would like to use this platform to give a brief personal profile that dovetails with my journey with STARBRITE ZIM so far. Firstly l’m a girl who is passionate about what she does ,enjoy being Independent and being able to set a precedence worth emulating for my siblings since l’m the first and only girl child in our family .I have always loved singing ever since I was a child .To me music is a lifestyle ,music is in me .It is a gene and it just happened that people saw me and loved the way l presented music to them.
I went to Nyahuni Adventist and gradually l felt more connected to music but did not do anything about it initially. I then attended Dadaya and Christ for Zimbabwe. Afterwards l then personally knew that my name had a connotation to my passion but firstly faced tough criticism from my father who believed that nothing else could put food on the table except for academics. I am now glad he finally understood how passionate I was and how deeply l love music and that he got to understand that God creates people differently all with different talents.
l'm not that good in academics as compared to my other siblings but I am glad no one else sings like me in the family. StarBrite has been a life changing experience because I now know how to face certain challenges and how to handle people .Moreover I have grown from a contestant to an artist and learnt that music is a business hence you have to wear boxing gloves for you to conquer .Finally StarBrite taught me that in a competition never let anyone tell you that you are not worthy and it has also taught me how to handle situations in a way that it comes back to me with respect.
Indeed it’s my time to shine!
Thank you.
I am Melody Tembo contestant number 85 and I am going to lay out some of the lessons and benefits l got from the Finals Bootcamp 2015 that was held from the 20th to the 22nd of November.
Our First Speaker was none other than Coach TB who was also our fitness trainer. He spoke about how to become a better musician and how to focus your mind on money. He also talked about manipulating certain opportunities we receive and gave examples of International artists who got into trouble and then realized an album that would sell.
Mrs. Christine Nyerenda Chimuka taught us on basic good hygiene like bathing, eating, dressing for an occasion, communicating and how you present yourself to the public which is "LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION”, an everyday routine for an artist.
We also got to meet Cindy Munyavi and Cynthia Mare who stated that they take every performance as an audition and this taught me that if you dream and work on your dream, you will achieve your dreams regardless of what others might think of you. Critics might bring you down but be bold and remain confident in yourself.
l also had the opportunity to meet up with Hope Masike who grew up in a family were “Zvemagitare” was a no no, but that did not stop her from becoming who she is today and still grows stronger . I also had the opportunity to talk with one of the best writers Mr Rabson Shumba who noted that nothing is too big on earth that God cannot solve. Life is too short to be regretting and therefore we must not live in regrets but in the successes that we have done and this involves not relying by the past but the future that waits.
And with this l can approach the world strongly and with courage .
THANK YOU
