I participated on Starbrite in the first days when it began and it opened up some doors for me that I wouldn’t have been able to open at that time. Music was still very monopolized by bigger record labels that only catered to Sungura or traditional, no one was able to buy home studios and computer software etc coz that only developed in the last 8 years or so. 

StarBrite brought the youth to the forefront and we could play with a live band and explore different rhythms that we were imagining that sounded nothing like what the Zimbabwean music on the radio sounded like.

DJ Barney and his partners still continued to empower me even as i made it internationally and assisted in connecting me with Radios and TV Stations in the USA.
